Martin Gedeon | HARPSICHORD | ORGAN
Martin Gedeon was born in Prague (CZ), where he studied aviation technology as well as security in information and telecommunication systems at the Prague Technical University. In touch with the Early Music came he thanks to his private organ lessons with L. Vendl. In 2013 he joined the harpsichord class of Erich Traxler (continuo with Augusta Campagne) in Vienna, first at the MUK Vienna Conservatory and then at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, where he graduated with honours. Martin was also further improving playing the organ (P.D. Peretti) as well as playing the fortepiano (M. Balyan) and spent Erasmus-year at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, studying harpsichord with F. Bonizzoni, basso continuo and improvization with P. Ayrton.
He attended a great number of masterclasses and seminars with renowned teachers such as J. Christensen, B. Martin, T. de Goede, D. Börner, A. Zylberajch, H. Franke. He has also collaborated with numerous ensembles such as Capella Leopoldina, L'Orfeo Barockorchester, Tonkünstler-Orchestra, Academia Allegro Vivo, Haydn-Quartett, Solamente Naturali, Le nuove musiche, Mucha Quartet, Il Cuore Barocco. Martin can be lately mostly heard in Vienna Musikverein with SchlossCapelle orchestra.
Martin has also been invited to coach the Studio of Early Music at Musikfabrik Edelhof (2018) and as an accompanist for Akademie Balthasar Neumann (Vienna, AT) and for International Summer School of Early Music Valtice (CZ).
He was teaching in the school year 2021/2022 at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna. He has been substituting at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and at the Joseph Haydn Konservatorium in Eisenstadt
