Martin Gedeon was born in Prague, Czech Republic, where he pursued studies in aviation technology as well as in security in information and telecommunication systems at the Prague Technical University . In touch with the Early Music came he thanks to his private organ lessons with L. Vendl. In 2013, he joined the harpsichord class of Erich Traxler (later studying also continuo with Augusta Campagne) in Vienna.He initially attended the MUK Vienna Conservatory before transferring to the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, from which he graduated with honors. Additionally, Martin further honed his skills in organ performance under P.D. Peretti and fortepiano under M. Balyan. He also spent an Erasmus year at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, where he studied harpsichord with F. Bonizzoni and basso continuo and improvisation with P. Ayrton.
Throughout his career, he has participated in numerous masterclasses and seminars led by esteemed teachers such as J. Christensen, B. Martin, T. de Goede, D. Börner, A. Zylberajch, H. Franke. He has also collaborated with a variety of ensembles including L'Orfeo Barockorchester, Capella Leopoldina, Tonkünstler-Orchestra, Academia Allegro Vivo, Haydn-Quartett, Solamente Naturali, Le nuove musiche, Mucha Quartet, Il Cuore Barocco. Martin can be regularly heard in the Wiener Musikverein with the the Schloss Capelle.
Martin has also been invited to coach the Studio of Early Music at Musikfabrik Edelhof (2018) and as an accompanist for Akademie Balthasar Neumann (Vienna, AT) and for International Summer School of Early Music Valtice (CZ).
He taught in the school year 2021/2022 at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna, in the summer semester 2023 at the Joseph Haydn Konservatorium in Eisenstadt and in the summer semester 2024 at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
